Lunch again today at MOM's.... I was craving a hamburger and decided to have a Momburger. At McD a burger with f/f's and a soda is ?? $6.00 ? At Moms the burger made with real chopmeat and descent f/f's with lettuce tomato, pickle, slaw and Iced Coffee is $9....so for just a few dollars more, real food at a sit down "restaurant" Makes sense to me ! (And MOMS is probably only locals)

Cute, nostalgic restaurant. Friendly environment. A lot of the locals a regulars. Wait staff is nice. I ordered crunchy French toast. Very tasty. But I have had better. Priced a little high.

Mom's Kitchen is a little out of the way for me for a normal breakfast spot, in fact I didn't even really know this area of Fort Lauderdale existed, but I needed to pick my car up at Funky Buddha after Savanna M's second birthday celebration left me less than capable of operating a vehicle. I put breakfast into the Yelp app and came up with Mom's Kitchen. We were probably on the early end of the Saturday morning breakfast rush around 9am so there was no problem with seating or speed. The decor in here is fun with old jukeboxes and all kinds of pictures adorning the walls, and model planes flying from the ceiling. There is also a ceiling fan pretty much every five ceiling tiles. I was impressed that although there was so much going on decor wise, everything was clean and organized, no dust bunnies, not even on the fan blades, which I know from my own house cleaning ventures can get very dirty. For diners that have somewhat of a reputation of being a little grimy, Mom's Kitchen is far from it. The menu is a decent size, and they serve breakfast all day. They also have about a page of "specials". Looking at other's pictures and reviews it doesn't look like the specials change that much over time. I ordered an omelet from the specials list which was filled with spinach, mushrooms, and feta cheese. It came with a choice of potatoes or grits, of which I chose potatoes, and a choice of bread, of which I chose an everything bagel. My boyfriend was starving. He ordered the eggs benedict which also came with the potato/grit choice, and he added a side of bacon. Just as the waitress thought we were finished ordering, he added, "and a side of banana pancakes". After we all finished laughing about the fact that banana pancakes were his "side" the orders were up pretty quickly. I enjoyed my meal. The portions were large, and I was impressed with the quality of the bagel. The breakfast potatoes need a little salt, but I would rather add my own than have the kitchen make them too salty as sometimes diners can be way too heavy handed with the shaker. I didn't' try the eggs benedict, but the banana pancakes were heaven. I would definitely recommend getting that "side". Mom's Kitchen is located inside a small strip mall, and you have to walk into a hallway before the restaurant entrance, so don't get confused. Definitely a worthy breakfast spot with friendly service and a good value.

Food is always good. Got the "moms mini breakfast" with a Nutella banana pancake.with a half order of biscuits and gravy. Millie got the eggs Benedict. Everything was great. Only problems were that service was a little slow when we first got there. And the side of bacon, that I always get with my breakfast, was overpriced at $3.50. Can't you get a whole breakfast for $3.50?

Yep this diner has been in existence since 1972 and it looks it. And I don't mean that as a bad thing. The tables are pretty close together so be prepared to say hello to your neighbor. The service was efficient and quick. The food was exactly what I expected, basic diner food so that was good. There is a parking lot out back in addition to the parking spots out front. And you pay at the counter as you leave. Efficient, courteous, clean and filling. What else do you want in a diner?

Home-style Comfort Food! Mom's is just what you might expect if I opened a diner......counter seats and booths.....waitresses in their late 50's or older with an attitude.......good food at a reasonable (for Ft. Lauderdale) price. Between us, we had the Farmer's breakfast, biscuits & gravy, home fries, and a big egg, sausage, potato, biscuit and gravy plate. Served fresh & hot, nothing wrong with this place!

Food. Good, classic diner food. I has the eggs florentine. B+ Service. Very good. Friendly. Fast delivery. A Atmosphere. Love it. Clean and casual with nice little homey nick knacks all over the place. Nice dark wood booths. Much nicer than most diners in the area. A price. Good average pricing. Food quantity is healthy but not massive. A

Moms kitchen is a family run diner good for all ages. The food isn't fancy or exotic...just regular diner food that's always good and hearty. I love the banana pancakes and crispy French toast. There's parking in the front and back. Be prepared to wait on Sunday's as it seems that it's a usual stop for many after church. Moms kitchen has been around forever and hopefully things will remain that way. Great for families

Our waitress was from New York, and proud of it. She whipped those orders up, with a bit of dry humor, some tough love for the indecisive little ones, and just a dash of patience-small dash. Fun experience. We called ahead with a party of 10, after driving to Michael's and seeing that it had no room for us. Just a short wait later, and we were dining at Mom's. Quirky little crew was the staff, which made us feel welcomed. Even the diners all took their turns holding doors for and greeting us. The food was quick and good. I'd not say it's one dollar sign though. Three of us ate breakfast for $30.00, and I ordered ONLY the $1.85 home fries. The menu is definitely 2 dollar signs. Decent sized menu, manageable yet broad. A hometown looking diner, with pretty good food and an old fashioned yet upbeat feel is Mom's Kitchen. Thanks 'Mom'

This is me and my boyfriends absolute favorite breakfast spot. Prices are great and the food is even better. We also always have great service and love chatting it up with our friendly servers. Food also comes out QUICK. Be warned that on weekends there will be a wait guaranteed so be prepared, but it's worth it in my opinion.

Best breaskfast spot in the area. Parking can be tough on the weekends. Staff is great. It is consistently good and you get exactly what you imangine!

I use to be a die hard costumor of this breakfast spot for almost 10 years, going at least once a week and sometimes up to 3 times a week. About two years ago they hired a new waitress who was absolutely horrible and she worked every day. We even told her that we did not like how she served and wanted another waitress but she would just keep trying to take care of us. This was the begining of the decline for us. Things really went downhill when they changed over to their new menus. Everything on the menu was raised in price $1-2. The prices to start werent the cheapest, I was paying about 11 dollars just for my breakfast meal alone, so now I would be paying 13. The other disapointing part was not only was the prices more but the food quality was going down. Food was coming out very sloppy and flavorless. Many items I ordered were coming out burned or not as I ordered them. After about 10 visits of consistant disapointment, my family decided it wasnt worth paying so much for below average food. Very disappointed in how my favorite breakfast spot went down the drain.

Great food and service at the right price! Other than having relatively sub-par coffee, I don't really know how I'd improve Mom's breakfast! Delicious.

Walking in this diner I felt like I was at Mom's. When I walked in on both occasions I was greeted with lots of hellos, good mornings' and smiles. A couple that walked in right after me were greeted with their names as well. There is a lot of ambiance from various jukeboxes to a peacock bench to boxing gloves signed by Muhammad Ali and the like that capture your attention. There are a few televisions and it has a simple environment but yet enrapturing with all of the intricacies. I ordered hot chocolate with whip cream and corned beef hash thanks to my fellow yelpers It was delicious. I had my choice of bagel or toast, grits or home fries along with my eggs and corned beef hash. The food came out piping hot in just a few minutes- my only concern would be the home fries were burnt a little on one side. Second visit I ordered 2 eggs, bacon, toast and homefries. It was yummy but can you believe that the home fries were burnt a little on one side again? Regardless, the service makes up for this mishap and I am hoping it does not continue to happen. Once you have finished you pay at the cash register where you get more friendly service and follow up. Both times the cost of my food was under $10. So far I am a huge fan! I am deducting one point until we can get the home fries right- otherwise definitely one of my new favorite places!! Thanks fellow yelpers!!

Extremely Rude hostess staff, unfortunate that you cant allow diners to enjoy their meal. After waiting almost 30 minutes for a table, I barely started my 2nd cup of coffee and was not so politely reminded by the hostess that "other people are waiting for your table". We sat outside waiting longer than we were actually at our table. If you cannot accommodate parties in a timely manner, do not blame it on your customers. I will not be returning and neither will anyone in my family. Food is average and not worth the nasty attitude. Advice to the owner, reconsider your staffing.

This is exactly the sort of place that I love but why are you in South Florida and not St. Petersburg where I live? This place has character. The walls are covered in pop culture icons and autographed pictures of movie stars and sports icons. There are nick nacks and interesting antiques everywhere. And despite the fact that this place has been here for years and years, there is only a light dusting of age on everything. In fact, they seem to keep the place looking really good. I checked out the kitchen while i was here and it was clean and well organized from what i could see. Despite being very busy, the food came out quickly and looked great. More importantly it tasted good. However it wasn't perfect. I had a random cold spot in my biscuits and gravy. It wasn't sitting out too long cold because everything else around it was piping hot. It was like out of the fridge cold. Best i can figure is that the biscuit was refrigerated and when they reheated it they didn't get the middle. Also the food was somewhat bland. I assume that this is for all the seniors there who can't have salt and hate flavor. My own grandpa was one of them. So after i salted and peppered it, the flavor was fine. Then the staff does a good job of helping each other out. They have all been there for ages. However there are a few who are NYC style waitresses who rush you. I was explaining Yelp to my mom when she came up and asked what i was doing. I explained what Yelp was and what I was doing and that i would need another minute to look at the menu. She then ignored my request and began taking orders. By the time she got to me I had just finished reading the specials and started the menu. She rushed me through the selection and I got something that i like but it is still disconcerting when her desire to flip the table comes before my comfort. And also not very smart when someone says, "I am explaining how to review your place" to do anything but make the experience perfect. So based on this experience i would give a 2. Based on other experiences by myself and family, I would give a 5. So i am going to give a 4 overall. If I keep having problems or have other better experiences then I will adjust it.

Been back twice since my first review. One time my wife ordered a blueberry muffin. After a few bites she noticed the crispy topping was not sugar and blueberry but mold. Big offer "we'll take it off your check, can I get you anything else"? Really? I don't think so, check pls Next visit I had ordered a milk with my food. After not getting it I asked 2 waitresses to no avail. When I finally got up and approached the counter I was abruptly asked by another staff wanting to know what I needed. When I said my glass of milk, my original waitress showed back up and asked what I was going to do with it. Really? WTH? I'm gonna drink it moron! I'm done wasting my time here, too many great diners in town to deal with crappy food and lousy waitresses.

Pros: * Awesome diner decor & sports theme. All kinds of signed sports paraphernalia, jerseys, card, etc. * Excellent Food * Fairly decent service and price. * Not far off the scenic A1A beach front highway. Cons: * Would have given 5 STARS had the potato hash browns not been so terrible. I was surprised at how mushy and bland they were after tasting all the other delicious components of my breakfast. * They close at 3pm. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Just avoid the hash browns...

The homefries are not the best but dont let that discourage you to order anything else. Love this place!

I'm not sure where to start. No wait, I've got it! First let me say that the waitresses who are old enough to be Grandmothers are all wearing shorty shorts and support hose. You haven't seen panty hose paired with shorts like this since Lynda Carter rocked that look in the 70's on Wonder Woman. The hose is shiny and distracting cause it's highlighting legs I don't need to see. Ok, I got that off my chest. One other non-food thing I wanted to mention is that the condiment tray on our table contained the usual: ketchup, tabasco (score!) and the unusual: Hand Sanitizer, X Large size, with a pump. I found this super odd. I ordered a cup of hot tea with milk on the side, the crunchy french toast (coated and cooked in a layer of corn flakes) and corned beef hash well done. Everything was ok. Nothing special. Nothing terrible. I would've loved it if the hash were homemade but sadly it was not. Give it a try, or not. At least you can "wash" your hands at the table if need be.

It's good down home cooking, right in the neighborhood and right around the corner to boot. I can see that "Mom" and her gals (the waitresses) have their favorites - but that's fine with me; it's good to establish a rappaport with your clientele and that gives me the chance to join that stellar crowd. I eschewed a table for service at the bar and I got a real feel for how a diner works. Also skipping the breakfast/brunch favorites (this is a traditional place of pancakes, waffles, omelets and such; not your endless mimosas - families come with the kiddies in tow - decorum please!) I headed straight into a nice diner lunch course of sirloin, mash potatoes, steamed broccoli and gravy. It was quite yummy and not unlike food I've had before at other diners or even more to the point - a roadside cafe on a lonely stretch of highway. I am anxious to return and try out some of their other refreshingly tasty menu items.

If you don't mind a dirty table and overpriced food, this is your place. Had a tasteless omelette with unripe tomato and cheese that had no flavor and a coffee that was nothing more than Brown water. $12.50 plus tip. For less than $15 I can go to Stork's or First Watch nearby and have MUCH better breakfast - and the restaurant would be clean.

This is one of our go-to breakfast restaurants, but make sure you come early on the weekends because you'll usually have to wait. The food is good and the prices are decent.

Food was served quickly, a bit small and pricey but the food was good. It's your neighborhood diner spot so people have been working there forever I'm sure. I would go back but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Mom's Kitchen was entirely underwhelming. My fiance and I stopped in for breakfast to try a new place. Once seated it took a long time to get service. We both ordered eggs. I got toast and potatoes with mine, while the fiance opted for bacon and grits. Everything on the plate looked sad. The eggs were a little over cooked, while the toast was hardly toasted. I love a tasty diner breakfast, but sadly you don't get one here. The decor is overwhelming with tables and eclectic crap jammed into a tight space. There are certainly better breakfast establishments with comparable prices in the area.

A great little diner a little off the beaten path... which is good because the tourists not smart enough to use Yelp will never find it. However, the locals are pretty well aware, so be prepared to wait. It's worth it. Unmatching silverware, sassy "mature" waitresses, and great smells... yeah this place lives up to its name. I went with the crunchy french toast with corn flakes stuck to the bread. I also appreciated that they use syrup made from sugar not high fructose corn syrup. Nice touch. The breakfast potatoes were great. Bacon was just good. Coffee - excellent. And pretty cheap for all you get! Parking's a bit of a challenge.

If Mom isn't cooking your breakfast of making your lunch, come to this Moms! Quality ingredients and friendly staff. Comfy booths and clean restrooms. Love the old Wurlitzer jukeboxes in front. Wouldn't it be great if they worked too? Oh that would just be too fun!

  • Vishal P.

This breakfast was great. The service is wonderful. The atmosphere and service is like a traditional NJ Diner. The food is home-style finger licking good. Came here multiple times for break fast and for lunch. It's the perfect hangover cure. You can't go wrong with their omelets or pancakes. If you're in for traditional southern food... biscuits and white gravy.

Never even made it to a table. I visited this restaurant today with my mom and sisters because of the reviews on yelp. We set in the waiting area for about 10 min. People were coming and going about every 5 to 7 minutes. A lady walks in with her husband chit chatting with the hostess about her being sick recently. She ask the hostess if she could squeeze her in. The hostess precedes to look around then take the couple to the next available seat. My mom stood up and the hostess said "relax ladies". We all were so blown away by this. I said let's go. This behavior was unfair, rude and disrespectful. We went around the corner to Michael's Cafe were the service was great and the food was delicious.

Hands down the best diner in Fort Lauderdale. I know, i know, what about Lester's or Peterpan, both very good yes. But moms' got the right combo of service and good food. Bacon Cheeseburger with a Fried Egg is a must.

  • Gustav S.

Frankly this place is not that great yet tons flock her it seems. I'm not entirely sure why. If you are looking for a great diner, try Andrews Diner or Bayview Diner. Both are better in my book. The eggs were kind of meh, and nothing else was really exceptional at Moms. The service was mediocre at best as well. Certainly a low option on the breakfast totem pole for me....

We are here from Seattle and are happy we found this place. This is a very casual "locals" restaurant to grab some breakfast. The service is not unlike most cafe's but the prices are great, the food is good and the banana pancakes are to die for! They are so good that we ate them today, for the second day in a row...and might try a different spin on them tomorrow!

    (4)
  • Jack D.

Cool decor, nice enough folks, but our food was not that great. The strawberries in the strawberry pancakes were a soggy mess. I know I shouldn't expect fresh, but it was just blah. My cheesesteak had almost no cheese and half the sandwich had almost no meat. Iced coffee was pathetic and gross. Waitress was nice and really sweet to my daughter, but she forgot something every time she brought stuff. Cream for my coffee, ranch for my onion rings, and just gave me the check after we ordered when I was ready to wash my "cheese" steak with a soda. I gave it a shot but we'll probably go back to the pancake house for Sunday breakfast.

    (2)
  • Maryann C.

Been here many times... The service is great but the food was average to below depending on the day. Potatoes have zero flavor, prices are on the high side. Don't plan to go back.

    (2)
  • Katie L.

Meh. I've experienced better. Our server was not friendly... first fail. Biscuits and gravy.... yuck! Biscuits were hard and tasteless as well as the gravy. Horrible, horrible gravy. Coffee is just gross. Couldn't even finish drinking it. Poppy seed bagel had 5 poppy seeds on it. Bagel was stale. Give me a break! Standard eggs and potatoes and bacon. Can't really screw that up. I wouldn't come back. There are other diners in the area that I like more.

  • David D.

These are the local yokel, mom and pop, off the beaten path places we love! It's the spot the locals go and we talked with a couple at the counter during the meal. We had a few hours between our flight arrival and cruise departure so we drove over for breakfast. The tuna was great! Hard to find a place that knows how to make tuna fish but they do. Tuna gets a 5! Cole Slaw: 2, needs improvement. Pickles: 1, get another pickle vendor. Breakfast potatoes: 4 Service: 4 Fast and Friendly. Value: 5 (low prices) We would come back if in the area again. Gets really crowded, so come early or wait with a newspaper.

A quaint little place serving diner type breakfast. The people are friendly and the food comes out fast and hot. If your going for a quick early morning breakfast this is a good spot. Although, the food is nice but I've had better.

Old school family run diner. Feels like I am living a john cougar song when here :)

    (5)
  • Michael M.

Ok. Let me first begin by saying the food and staff are great. I've been taking my own mom here for years when she visits. HOWEVER: PRICING IS JUST WAY OUT OF LINE. BRING YOUR SWISS BANK ACCOUNT TO PAY FOR BREAKFAST. ON 8/11/13 A friend and I went to breakfast at Moms. We each had an omelette, coffee an one (1) glass of milk. The credit card machine was down, so we each made sure we had more than cash before sitting down. We had $26 between us: more than enough. Consider our shock when we received a bill for $27.00 for two omelets, coffee and a glass of milk! WOW! So here is the breakdown: Base omelette is $8.95 PLUS $1.75 per each ingredient if you build your own. I wanted tomatoes in lieu of the carb assault of potatoes and toast that comes with this Porsche of omelets. Forget it, that would have been an ADDITIONAL $1.95. As much as I love this place and have been going here for years, I can no longer justify paying $15.00 for an omelette and a cup of coffee, unless I'm eating in front of the Eiffel Tower or some other monument, then ....MAYBE. Sorry for the bad review moms. Really love your staff and food is great...just not $30 diner style breakfast for two great. Please revisit your pricing methods.

Perfect spot for breakfast and lunch. I love their French toast!! They have a pecan French toast which is yummy. The atmosphere is very chill and the service is quick and everyone is nice. You can always eat at counter if you're a solo diner. Love this place!!

  • Nick B.

Classic diner feel with a small town local feel. This place stays pretty busy so don't expect the waitresses to cater just to you. But if you know what you want you'll get a great meal for cheaper than most other places. This has become a staple and we have breakfast here several times a month. A few of my favorites - try the biscuits and gravy, or if you are less hungry try the moms muffin (english muffin with an egg and bacon or ham- or sausage even if its not on the menu!) or if you want lunch the chicken salad melt is great too.

Great spot!!! Irish Bennie and Crunchy French Toast- cant be beat! Always packed but I've rarely had much of a wait- Counter is always fast too. Super easy and delicious!

We've been coming here for 2 years straight on a weekly basis. Don't be afraid of any wait times. They move em in and move em out efficiently. Very friendly service, consistent food every single time, and their lunch is just as good as the breakfast, which is by far the best in Broward county. Even "Mom" doesn't have anything on this place.

First time i came here was after reading all the great reviews. It really is a great neighborhood place... A nice break from the typical giant chain. Coffee is very god and i love that they have tons of specials every day. I got the banana nut french toast (picture attached). It was a bit heavy for me... it was not really banana nut bread in french toast batter... it almost seemed like banana nut cake! It was tasty - don't get me wrong. I guess I was expecting something less dense. I'm not an egg fan - but the rest of my party was mesmerized with their choices. For egg selections this place deserves 4 stars. My 2 cents would be to offer more options that include fresh fruit... especially under the "from the griddle" section of the menu. But overall this is a very good place.

  • Cheryl S.

Great breakfast place! We had waffles, omelets, lox and bagels and the country breakfast. All food was good. Great high chair for the little one and very fast with his order. Waitstaff was friendly and cautious to not pour hot coffee near the toddler.

  • Marqus R.

What a totally pleasant diner operation! All of the food is great, particularly the taste of "Mom's Famous Eggs Benedict," and the service is outstanding. Everything is spotlessly clean, in good order and the interior is well decorated. To the contrary of that mentioned by others, I happen to like the "ceiling fan show" though it does appear somewhat identical to the one over at Lowes.

Classic diner feel with classic diner food. Very clean restaurant. They also move fast. There was a line and it was only a 10 minute wait. Staff was friendly and speedy. Had a great relaxing time. Got breakfast this particular morning and it was classic east coast diner fare. Enjoyed it very much and would have no problem becoming a regular here and enjoying for years.

My grandma, mum, sis and I went Saturday morning it was crowded. but despite it being so crowded we only waited 15 minutes. The servers are fast and friendly. The food was good as well, very "homemade" taste. I would definitely come again if I was in the area

I really liked the decorations in there, it had a living room-esque feel to it. It really felt like a "moms" kitchen. Besides that the country steak kinda tasted like one of those Salisbury steaks that you can microwave for a t.v. dinner. The orange juice was about $3 and the serving they gave me makes a small at McDonalds look like a big gulp. The staff was also quite rude.

    (2)
  • Monica R.

Exceptionally fast, friendly service. The food is good, typical diner fare. It's a place you feel very welcome at. I've always stuck with the basics for breakfast having omelets and such and they are very good. I usually go in at least 1-2 times per week and am generally happy when I leave. It's worth a try if you're in the area.

As far as breakfast places I've ever had, this one is right there at the top. Home style, affordable, and friendly staff are all appropriate ways to describe this place. I had the Eggs Benedict which was delicious. My friend had an Italian omelette which was also good. There really isn't much you could say that is negative about this place.

    (5)
  • Amanda A.

This is the place for a fair priced delicious breakfast. We love the choices on the menu...so many out of the box delicious choices. We tried the chili cheese omelet & the Italian omelet special of the day. Both were amazing! And a treat after a long night the night before:)

I really enjoyed my breakfast here. On this particular visit, my first visit to Mom's Kitchen, I stopped by on a Monday morning (MLK Jr. Day). It wasn't too crowded when I arrived, but that changed by the time I paid my bill. A creature of habit, I alternate between two types of breakfast: (1) An omelet and (2) eggs-over-easy with rye toast. On this visit, I ordered the 2-2-2 with a side of rye, eggs-over-easy. It tasted good. I like the rye toast, and the pancakes were above average. I was quick to recognize, as a first-time visitor, that the patrons are friendly with the staff and the back-and-forth is on a first-name basis. It's a local place, and I like that. They play that very soft-listening type of music in the background, and one of the waitresses was singing to each song. The food was served very quickly and the service was friendly. In the time-honored words of Arnaud Schwarzenegger ... I'll be back.

I can't believe I have lived in my neighborhood for over 16 years and have never been here. I have been into Smitty's a thousand times. I am so glad I finally paid attention and gave Mom's Kitchen a try. It's adorable and the food is great! The menu is extensive so you will have no problem pleasing everyone in your party. Pay attention to the items on special. I loved the blueberry pancakes and can't wait to try some other things!

We came to Mom's kitchen two days in a row because it was that good!! I had the Mom's Big Boy both days with strawberry pancakes one day and blueberry pancakes the other. For the price, you really get your money's worth!! Plus, the servers and hostesses are super nice. Definitely recommend!!

Lively joint, with a friendly wait staff. Packed to the rafters when we went there. Really terrific breakfast, with everything cooked perfectly and tasty! Can't wait to return...!

I really love this place for breakfast parking can be a little difficult on the weekend. The food is true home cooking and done with a lot of care. Most of the staff has been there for years to the point they know peoples names when they come in. The food is very tasty and they make some of the best coffee I have had from a diner style of place.

Food was Great! Service Quick! Waitress staff was prompt and polite. Would definitely go back the next time I'm in Florida

Food was ok. Some of the waitstaff were rude. You can definitely tell they were from New York. I would recommend you go to Hibiscus Cafe and skip the rude waitstaff and lines. No, I do not work there or know anyone there.

I don't understand what some people are fussing about. It's a diner people! It's not a 5 star restaurant! Love the atmosphere here. People are kind and food is great. Can't expect more.

We have now dined here 26 times and have yet to have anything other than a great meal and great service. We've brought family here, friends here, we've eaten here when it's been busy, slow, a weekend, weekday, a holiday and both morning and afternoon. Waiting for a bad meal here is like the Maytag repairman waiting for his phone to ring. If anyone knows anywhere this good, Yelp me and help me. I'm always looking for a fine place to dine. Here's a tip: if you can't find a parking spot out front there's plenty more spaces in the back. There's no charge for the parking or smiles here. After reading reviews of several breakfast spots in the area, we settled on Mom's, even though it was a couple of miles from our hotel. We are glad we did! Our party of 7 felt very welcome from the moment we stepped in the door. The staff was very engaging to everyone from kids, teens to adults. It really felt like we were in Mom's kitchen! With 7 folks, we tried a good portion of the menu - omelets, fried and scrambled eggs, pancakes, bagels. The food was out fast and was very good - no complaints at all and lots of satisfied kids and adults. We got out of there for a reasonable price (under $50 for all of us), so that was a total bonus! Great way to start the morning. We will definitely be back!

I went this morning with my family for breakfast. I ordered the bacon and cheese omelette, grits and a side of corned beef hash. The omelette was very tasty, the grits were good and the corned beef hash was decent. My brother had the hash browns and they were mediocre at best. Tasteless really....I have to say that what stood out the most about the breakfast was the excellent service and the friendliness of the staff, otherwise the breakfast was about average....especially the presentation. The coffee was good for diner type coffee. I'm not sure I would go back.

Well, service was very fast which was a plus. We also only had to wait about 10 minutes on a Sunday morning for a table. They definitely get you in & out which is great if you're hungry! However, I specifically mentioned I'd like my eggs fried "hard," reiterated I didn't want any runny yolk & the server said for sure... Then, the eggs came & were running all over the plate as soon as I cut it open. No one ever came back to see how everything was... So, I ate bacon, home fries & a bagel for breakfast. The server didn't even ask why my plate was pty except for two untouched eggs when she cleared my plate. Sad.

I have been going here on and off since the restaurant first opened and later moved from 62 Street and Dixie Hwy over a decade ago. Consistently is the word I'm using which describes their great service and good quality food. I am going to focus on one food item today....the Club Sandwich. They make one of the best Club Sandwiches in Broward (see pic). This old school sandwich is so basic to make but so many restaurants fcuk it up. Mom's make a solid one with turkey cut off the bone nice strips of bacon and just the right amount of lettuce and tomatoes. I always get my sandwich dry, but I always get a side of ranch dressing while I'm eating it. I pour alittle over the lettuce and tomato portion and go to town:) Just a great sandwich and I think the fresh turkey off the frame seals the deal. The only thing that sucks about this place is the parking. Parking can be a bitch when it's busy, but that shouldn't stop you from trying this place out. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!

This is a no nonsense diner. Your in & your out. Great food. Came here 3 times within 5 days on my vacation. The hollandaise... or however it's spelled... lol... was on point. I am very picky about my sauce. We had blueberry pancakes, an omlette.. let's see... what else. Oh the corn beef hash is yummy. The ladies in here work their butts. No slacking here. Someone takes you order, some one else bring it out, every one checks up on you but not too much. I like their system because you are never left needing something. The overall feel of the place is old school dinerish. Which I really loved. When in Pompano again I will definitely stop at Moms. Food is almost as good as my Moms... but DONT TELL HER!!!!

Chicken came out ok but it came on a dirty plate. When I resent it back it was cooked wrong ;( wasn't impressed. The only reason I'm giving two stars is cause whenever they have the potato soup that's the best thing ever. The raspberry tea is also the nest thing there. Other than that it wasn't appealing.

We went to Mom's Kitchen on 1/20/13. It wasn't even 8:00 in the morning, and we had just gotten off an overnight flight from Los Angeles. We were so tired because we didn't sleep at all on the plane. So going to Mom's Kitchen was just what we needed. The food was good and I remember our waitress saying that we could have anything we wanted. After that, I can see why the owner decided to call the restaurant Mom's Kitchen. It really was like being in my mom's kitchen. I will never forget this restaurant and hope that I can go back some day.

We come here often for late breakfast. The staff can come off as surly, until you get to know them. Everyone really is so sweet. Food is great, never been disappointed.

This place is not a bad spot for breakfast. I like how they are trying to be a cute little diner but it defiantly needs to be remolded with new decorations. The place needs a big cleaning. I noticed all the dirt and dust on the window sills. The windows were reat dirty too. I had pancakes and they weren't to bad but I was disappointed with the portion. I was still hungry after ! The prices are ok. Some things are a little pricey. The staff is nice but some of them are old like my grandma and kept forgetting things.

Love this place! Has a very homey feel to it. Everyone that works there was very nice and quick to assist. I had the bacon, eggs, sausage, grits, and a side of pancakes with coffee. Food came out quick and tasted just like home. Refills were quick and the server often refilled without us asking. 3 people and everything we ate came out to only $36. Sounds like a steal to me! Highly recommend this to anyone in the area.

This place is a hidden gem! Casual, quaint, and very friendly vibe. A group of us went for breakfast on a Saturday morning and we were seated right away. Coffee came within seconds!!! Their coffee is amazing too. I ordered a veggie omelet no butter, light oil with potatoes and dry rye toast. It came exactly as I ordered and it was deeelish!!! Friends had the farmer's plate which was scrambled eggs mixed with potatoes and veggies - it was an empty plate after they were done so it was a hit. One tip - be sure to check the chalkboard at the front for their specials!! I missed them and only saw them on the way out.

Its a good simple breakfast spot, it will be hard to be dissapointed here. Its far from being in a prime location but the inside of the restaurant will make you forget about that, at least if youre a baseball fan because theres alot of cool stuff on the walls, the place is very well lit and was steadily busy while i was there, its a good spot to start your day for sure and id recommend it. They have a lot of options as far as pancakes and french toast go, though they were out of pecans when i went. The bluberry pancakes had a respectable amount of blueberries but they dont have pure maple syrup. The egg white veggie omelet was a good portion and well made and not too greasy, and i loved the breakfast potatoes. The bagel was average, the biscuits and gravy were hearty and went well with the sausage which was pretty good. I was advised by our waitress that their banana nut french toast was not homemade and she pratically told me to avoid it, honesty appreciated. The service is good and food came quick, Id definitely go back.

New specials everyday. Great for breakfast or lunch. Plus free entertainment, when your geriatric uncle dumps an entire LARGE iced tea in his lap. You won't stop laughing... trust me.

After a solid Friday night, the crew reunited for breakfast at Mom's to discuss the previous nights events. While we shared our stories we all enjoyed some good food. As far as omelet's go (i had a veggie/cheese) it was good. It's pretty hard to mess that up though. the hash browns were great as well. Omelet, hashbrowns, and toast all for under $7.00 not too bad :) We also got a side of chocolate chip pancakes which are now a regular menu item. These were awesome. Warm, gooey chocolate chips in the middle of the pancakes. I havent had anything that good in awhile. The service was great and the staff was all super friendly.

Pretty good. Nothing fancy but filled the need for a decent, straightforward breakfast. I had the Eggs Florentine. Hollendaise was okay, spanich wasn't fresh, and potatoes werent anything special. Based on the other reviews I thought this place was going to rock! Maybe it's great for that neighborhood, but not when you compare it to a really awesome breakfast place. So... Would I eat there again? No. Am I bummed I went? No.

AMAZING breakfast!! We just ate at Moms's Kitchen for the first time and this is about the best breakfast we've had in south Florida hands down. The service was friendly and attentive, our food arrived just as we ordered it and then some...hot, fresh, and plentiful. We are generally pretty critical restaurant patrons and other than the old fashioned diner decor (which is kinda cute for a change) there is nothing to complain about at Mom's kitchen. This will fast become our go to breakfast spot!

This is a great breakfast spot with delicious food and fast service. It's nothing special; a typical menu with minimal atmosphere, but early in the morning I'm not usually awake enough to care about the small details. I'm not sure if it was because I dined with regulars or the kitchen always moves at warp speed, but we had barely finished ordering when our food came out. The coffee was strongs, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and they even got my request for well-done bacon right (that almost NEVER happens). The server was pretty funny, too. Not something that would typically matter for most diners, but it was a refreshing change of pace. I wouldn't recommend taking anyone here for a special occasion. If you're looking for a quick, yummy bite, Mom's Kitchen is one of those great little mom and pop shops that gets the basics right. Sometimes that's all you need.

I've been looking for the best diners in South Florida. The food is so-so. The service is indifferent at best, bordering on surly. I also got confused - it looked more like a ceiling fan showroom than a dining establishment.

This is a place I've been going to for quite a few years and have always been decent but recently the place has been going downhill. The past two times I've gone our orders were wrong, the food made us very sick and the man at the front who takes bills is not only completetly unhelpful but borderline rude. Today we simply asked for a to-go cup for our coffees and he referred us to a woman who was so unnecessarily nasty and refused to help us at all. Used to be good, but definitely slacking lately. Service is cruddy, attitutes are rude and the food sent me in and out of the bathroom all day. Not impressed.

Have only had breakfast here. But there is nothing better than a good breakfast. And Mom's knows how to do it. Love the biscuits n gravy. And be sure to ask for your home fries well done. Always fast too. In and out in about 15 20 minutes

Mom's is awesome comfort food! Breakfast and Lunch only and always busy, but the wait usually is not long except on Sundays maybe 20 minutes tops. It's a Diner setting with Awesome Staff and GREAT FOOD!

Decent Food....but Ouch! WAY EXPENSIVE !! $7.00 for a waffle? Expect not to get out the door for under $13 even for one person if you have lunch. Small portions. Very pleasant wait staff, it does indeed look like a ceiling fan store. But clean. I will not be going back because it simply is not a good value.

I have heard about this place for a long time from several colleagues who swear by it and eat there at least once a week. I went there for lunch today and checked it out. I had the turkey burger and it was a decent size and pretty tasty. I love turkey burgers and so many places get it wrong (Cheesecake Factory's turkey burger especially). This place got it right. Lots of things on the menu I want to try (and lots of good daily specials it seems) so I'll probably be back to try some more dishes. And the prices are very reasonable. The burger was only $6.45. Everyone was very friendly and the place lives up to it's name, its cozy and comforting environment was very much like a "mom's kitchen."
